Intoxicated Driver Kills Woman at Stoplight
A woman has been left dead and the man responsible is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter after a crash in northwest Harris County early Friday morning. The crash happened at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Bammel N. Houston Road near Klienbrook drive. Investigators from the Sheriff’s office said in a statement that a man driving eastbound in a Honda Accord ran a red light and hit a Nissan Maxima. The driver of the Maxima, a woman, died at the scene of the crash. The man who was driving the Honda Accord was taken to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Sheriff’s deputies say that alcohol did play a role in the crash and that the driver of the Honda was DUI at the time of the accident. The district attorney’s office accepted criminal charges against the driver.
